Creative Writing Workshop

What: "The Art of Expressing Yourself: Creative Writing in the U.S."

By Internationally Acclaimed Author and NYU Professor,
Lara Vapnyar

Ms. Lara Vapnyar is the author of three books: "There are Jews in My House," "Memoirs of a Muse" and "Broccoli and Other Tales of Food and Love," in which she humorously presents tales about love and loss parallel to culinary tastes. She has also had several short stories published in The New Yorker and Harper's Magazine. Reviewers have praised her craft of language, the depth of her subjects and the beauty of her characters' emotional discoveries.

Originally born in Russia, Ms. Vapnyar moved to the U.S. in 1994. Her experiences of both cultures resonate within her fiction writing. Even more remarkably, she did not know English that well before moving to the U.S. Now she is currently an associate professor of creative writing at New York University. She will present exercises in creative writing during her presentation here - full audience participation is expected!

Don't miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!
